Domaine Bachelet-Monnot

Established by Marc and Alexandre Bachelet in 2005.

Today it comprises approximately 20 hectares (50 acres) of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines in climats including grand cru vineyards in Bienvenues-BĂ¢tard-Montrachet and BĂ¢tard-Montrachet, along with premier cru plots in Saint-Aubin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet and Maranges.

The Bachelet brothers are descended from a long-line of Burgundian winemakers, and together they cultivate a combination of family-owned and leased vineyards covering a total of 20 appellations and producing 8300 cases of wine per year.

Blend:

Chardonnay

Maturation:

No herbicides are used in the farming of the vineyards and yields are kept purposefully low through de-budding. Grapes are harvested by hand and, in general, the wines age in 25 percent new oak barrels for approximately 12 months before racking and aging on their lees for six to eight months in bottle.

Batard-Montrachet

Fresh, clean with some bright honey touches and delicate floral notes. Very concentrated palate with a creaminess and terrific mineral character. Very satisfying and grand.
